About

I’m a UK-raised writer, editor, and illustrator with over three decades of experience working across journalism, publishing, education, and commercial content. I’ve been based in Japan since the late 1980s, where I combined a long career in English-language education with ongoing work as a writer and editor.

Much of my professional life has involved communicating across cultures — writing for international media, editing bilingual projects, and shaping stories that speak clearly to diverse audiences. I take a straightforward, honest approach to writing: substance first, style in service of clarity, and a deep respect for the reader.

  • Edited English-language guide copy for the Gunma Prefectural Museum of History.
  • Extensive experience commissioning, editing, and proofing educational materials and books for a major language education provider in Japan.

  • Written and self-published five novels and one short story collection:

 Weed, Sanctioned, King of the Undies World, The Underpants Tree, Another Perfect Day in ****ing Paradise, and Un-Tall Tales.
